Bronco Highlights

10/8/08 - Cross Country
In the 11th annual Bronco Weekday 5K Classic, sophomore Chris Mason set a course record at the Delhi Golf Course crossing in 16 minutes, 9.5 seconds.  Mason broke the previous record of 16:12.2, set by SUNY Delhi graduate Justin Wood in 2003, who is in his first year as SUNY Delhi's women's cross country and men's and women's track coach.  Delhi men finished second behind Oneonta (25 points) with 37 points.  Danielle Metz finished 10th in 22:47 to lead the woman Bronco's who finished third. 
 
10/7/08- Men's Soccer
The Bronco Men won another Mountain Valley Conference game over host Fulton-Montgomery CC with David Corrigan's crossing pass setting up Anis Makaren's goal.  Makaren scored from 6 yards to make it 1-0.  Alex Campbell scored with 7:16 left remaining giving Delhi a 2-0 lead.

10/6/08 - Women's Volleyball
Minori Sato excelled with 9 kills, 6 digs, and 2 aces to help the Bronco women to a non-conference win over Elmira JV.  Renee Ladlee, a Delaware Academy graduate had 10 kills and 2 blocks.  Another local athlete, Nicole Beers from Unatego had 11 digs, 3 aces and 2 kills.  Izumi Takahaski supported the win with 27 assists and 4 aces and Dani Lewis had 5 blocks and 4 kills.

10/5/08 - Men's Soccer
Walton graduate, Bryan Backus re-energized the Bronco's in the second half of the home contest after being down 1-0 in a Mountain Valley Conference win with a pair of headers to beat Adirondack CC.  Teammate Alex Campbell also scored a goal and had one assist. The team is 9-2-1.   

10/4/08 - Cross  Country
Chris Mason finished first to lead SUNY Delhi to a team victory in the Tri-State Invitational on Saturday at CC of Rhode Island.  The team finished with 46 points and Mason won the 8-kilometer race in 26:52.71.  Chris Burke finished third in 27:56.65.  Danielle Metz finished the women's 5K in 22:23 to lead the Women Bronco's to an 8th place finish.

10/4/08 - Women's Soccer
After a three goal lead half-time lead by Finger Lakes CC, the Bronco's received goals from Downsville graduate Stephanie Shellman and Amanda Porco but couldn't get the equalizer on Saturday.  With the Bronco's trailing at three minutes left,  Jessica DiSisto banged a shot off the post that ricocheted to Lauren's graduate Emily Bilz, who shot just over the crossbar. 

10/4-5/08 - Men's Golf
Senior Clint Chaffee shot rounds of 73-76 to place fifth at the 2-day Hamilton Fall Invitational on Saturday and Sunday.  The tournament was held at the Yahnundaisis Golf Club (par-71) and Skenandoa Golf Club (par-72).  The Bronco Men placed seventh at the 15-team tournament with a 625.

9/21/08 - Women's Tennis - Delhi 5, Hudson Valley 4
K
atie Ryan and Emilie Snyder won 8-3 at first doubles to lead the Broncos to a Mountain Valley Conference win at home.  Ryan and Snyder also won at first and second singles, respectively, for the Broncos who will compete in the NJCAA Division III Regional Tournament Oct 11-12.
